Uusimmassa Modassa oli iloisia kuvia virkatuista joulupalloista, päätin siis pistää jämälankoja taas hyötykäyttöön ja virkkasin pari palleroa tulevaa joulua varten. Meillä ei siis aiemmin ole ollut kuusta kotona (ollaan vietetty joulu mun/miehen vanhemmilla eikä olla koettu tarpeelliseksi), mutta tänävuonna päätettiin vihdoin se kuusi hankkia. Isompi typynenkin on jo sen verran iso, että siitä on varmasti iloa.
Ajattelin että voisimme kaikesta huolimatta ostaa muovikuusen. Tähän on aika monta syytä:
- siitä ei irtoa neulasia
- se ei roskaa
- se ei kuole jos unohtaa antaa vettä
- se on pitkäikäinen (ei tarvitse ostaa kuin se yksi kuusi loppuelämäksi)
- se ei päädy kaatopaikalle tai muualle joka vuosi
- sen voi halutessaan lahjoittaa eteenpäin jollekin muulle jos oma innostus muovikuuseen lopahtaa ja silloin siitä on iloa muillekin
- lapset eivät tukehdu tai astu ikävästi neulasiin
- haluaisin valkoisen kuusen (vähän pitää vielä suostutella miestä tähän)
Näitä palleroita ja muita koristeita tulee varmaan vielä lisää. Ainakin nuo muutamat jotka tuolla pöydällä odottavat vielä vanutäytettä :)

I found the pattern from the newest issue of the Finnish craft magazine Moda. The picture made me happy and dreaming about Christmas so I decided to make something useful from my scrappy yarns. I made a few ornaments for our Christmas tree to be.
We haven't had a tree at our home before, maybe because we have spent the Christmas's at my parents apartment our my husbands parents house. This year I thought that it would really be nice for the kids (and for me) to have a tree.
I thought about buying a plastic tree for a few reasons listed here:
- The needles won't fall off
- There won't be rubbish on the floor all the time
- The tree doesn't die if I forget to water it
- It's long lasting (it's the only one you have to buy for the rest of you're life)
- It doesn't get sent to the landfill every year
- If I don't like it anymore I can give it to someone who wants it or needs it
- The kids won't choke on the needles and they wont get them stuck in their soles
- I want a white tree (but I have to persuade my hubbie to it)
I'm sure I'll be posting more ornaments in the near future :)
