Lovikkalapaset on ikivanha malli. Luin Ullaneuleen sivuilta, että alunperin Ruotsin Lapista lähtöisin. Omat ensimmäiset koulun käsityötuntien muistot liittyy Lovikkalapasiin. Ala-asteella tämä oli ensimmäinen neuletyö jonka tein, silloin tosin lankana oli jokin valkoinen villalanka.

Isompi mukelo on pitkään jo kärsinyt pakkasilla siitä, ettei toppahanskat itsessään ole tarpeeksi lämpimät joten päätin lähteä mukaan tähän (ilmeisesti) muotivillitykseen ja tehdä typylle tälläiset.

Tytön tuntien jätin valkoisen hahtuvan kaappiin ja otin tätä värikkäämpää versiota. Tosin nyt lapaset on vähän eripariset, mutta eipähän ole kellään muulla muksulla päiväkodissa samanlaisia. Ja typy oli kyllä  tyytyväinen äipän tekemiin lapasiin, sen on pääasia.

Yarn Pirtin Hehräämö Hahtuva - Unspun (100 % wool), Novita Nalle Colori (75 % wool, 25 % Nylon;  427 yards / 390 meters, 150 grams / 5.29 ounces) 

Yardage The unspun wool is sold so that u don't know the yards of the yarn, so I can only tell how much the mittens weights. These mittens are 37 grams / 1.3 ounces.

Needles Size 4 mm / US 6 dpn

The pattern for Lovikka Mittens is ancient. I read from Ullaneule that it's originally from Sweden. I made my first pair in elementary school. I thinks the pair was my first knitted garment that I made myself. Those mittens were white.

My older daughter has been almost suffering from the cold weather and her gloves have not been enough. I made these for her to wear under the other gloves (It's been -20 celsius / -4 Fahrenheit for a couple days now).

I'v' noticed that these gloves are in right now here in Finland, so I decided to make them once again.

Knowing how my daughter messes her clothes

 up, I decided to use this colorful yarn instead of white. The mittens look a bit like they don't belong together, but I know that my daughter loves them (and nobody in the daycare has the same kind mittens). All that matters to me really is that she loves them :)
